Francesca Woodman is an inspiration for me because of the rawness within her photos. She chose to photograph herself in attempt to portray the female figure. Her figures were often woven into the background becoming apart of the wall but standing out because of our familiarity with the human figure. This concept makes us question how well we know the human figure, and I believe she has done this with that purpose. As something we see everyday it is hard to capture the human body with success in making people truly see it. I believe her compositions achieve this and is why she inspires me.
